Leroy Carlenzoli, P.E.
Principal and Project Manager
Leroy Carlenzoli founded Carlenzoli and Associates in 1987. Leroy has over 4 decades of Civil Engineering and Land Surveying experience throughout the San Francisco North Bay Region. Leroy presides over all areas of the Engineering and Surveying Departments. Leroy's experience allows him to offer sound and reliable advice in areas of optimizing engineering design leading to sound construction.
Mr. Carlenzoli is notably involved with Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California (CELSOC), a 50-year-old, nonprofit association of private consulting engineering and land surveying firms. A statewide organization, CELSOC is dedicated to enhancing the consulting engineering and land surveying professions, protecting the general public and promoting use of the private sector in the growth and development of our state. Mr. Carlenzoli has served on many committees both locally and statewide. He is currently acting as the Vice Chairman of the Legislation Committee which has the responsibility of reviewing and making recommendations on current and proposed State Legislation that affects our profession and land use. Mr. Carlenzoli has also been a consultant to the California Board of Engineering Registration.
Mr. Carlenzoli is actively involved and widely recognized in our local community, as well as on a statewide level. His experience with the California Subdivision Map Act and Professional Engineer's and Land Surveyor's Act is a valuable asset to the firm and to those individuals who frequently call for advice. Mr. Carlenzoli has been instrumental in working with our local agencies, providing guidance and recommendations on how to shape the development review processes so that they operate in a predictable and efficient manner.
Mr. Carlenzoli has an extensive knowledge of the rules of survey procedures. He has consistently applied the highest standards of the profession to every project with which he has been associated and is well regarded within the local professional community.
Greg Hurd, P.E., LEED AP
Principal and Project Manager
Greg Hurd is a registered Civil Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the commercial and residential Land Development Industry throughout the San Francisco North Bay. Mr. Hurd has been with Carlenzoli and Associates since 1988 and became co-owner in 1994. Mr. Hurd is a Project Manager for a variety of civil engineering and land surveying projects for both public and private clients.
Mr. Hurd primary function at Carlenzoli and Associates is new business development, development of scopes of work, fee proposals and negotiating professional service agreements. Mr. Hurd is responsible for project management and client representation including management of project schedules and budgets, assurance of compliance with agency and regulatory requirements on assigned projects. Mr. Hurd has considerable experience in client and public-agency interactions and has developed extensive relationships with public officials.
Additionally, Mr. Hurd is experienced in all phases of project management, design and site development, including preliminary engineering design studies that include the incorporation of land use and zoning considerations, assessment and consideration of site constraints, and potential regulatory issues.
Mr. Hurd also oversees preparation and processing of conceptual site development plans, tentative subdivision maps, development plans and preparation and processing of public and private improvement plans and for public, commercial and residential developments including construction and engineering cost estimates.
Mr. Hurd is actively involved within the local community as he volunteers with a number of business and non-profit organizations within Sonoma County including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the California Home Builders Association, the Sonoma County Alliance, the North Coast Builders Exchange and the Northern California Engineering Contractors Association.
